Let's face it, it's been a long time since European manufacturing has been competitive in the field of power electronics. So its a bit of a surprise that the big German and Austrian manufacturers SMA and Fronius remain dominant in the inverter market in Europe.
Sungrow might well change that. Sungrow are the biggest inverter manufacturer in the far east, and have an enormous base of installed inverters in China, Korea and plenty of other countries - including, increasingly, Europe and the states.
The price is considerably keener than the major European manufacturers, but these are not at all badly made, and indeed they tend to score higher than the European equivalents in terms of efficiency.
